You can unlock alternate character costumes in Mortal Kombat X by completing Klassic Towers, finding them in the or unlocking them via the Mortal Kombat X mobile game. There are a few exceptions, with some alternate costumes only being available via downloadable content (DLC), but you can get almost every alternate costume in the game with a bit of time and effort.Many of the alternate costumes have multiple unlock methods to make this process a bit easier. Any costumes listed with multiple unlock methods, the costume can be unlocked with ANY of these methods.
The Krypt is a dungeon-style mini-game added into Mortal Kombat. It allows players to explore a dark underworld area, unlock new Fatalities, Brutalities, character costumes, and even concept art and stage music. Overall there are quite a few different areas within the Krypt, and many are locked off by devices which require certain items to get passed.
There are also some random enemy encounters that players can come across within the Krypt, and while they don’t present any negative impacts, they do allow you to score some extra Koins.Before we go any further we want to go ahead and cover everything that you'll need to know to unlock the various areas within the Krypt.Unlock the Spider TunnelsIf you want to unlock this area of the Krypt you're going to need to get your hands on Scorpion's Spear, which can be found sticking out of a tree in the Walkway of Souls (-13, 19). The other item you're going to need is Sub-Zero's Ice Ball (-21, 20), and isn't far from the location of the Spear. To enter the Spider Tunnels (3, 9) simply return to the Frozen Graves where you originally entered the Krypt.Unlock Kotal's KaveThis area is unlocked by moving through the Switch Passage.

As you get closer, you'll probably notice the string of numbers on the wall, and as it turns out, these numbers are your key to getting past this part of the Krypt. If you somehow missed them, don't sweat it, we've got them right here - 4, 1, 3, 2. Now move to the far end of the hallway, and then use the switches in the order of the numbers. Once the door is open you'll be rewarded with 6,000 Koins, as well as an open entryway into Kotal's Kave.
Time to move deeper.Unlock Shao Khan's TombTo get into this part of the Kyrpt you're going to need Kotal Khan's Sword (22, 34) from Kotal's Kave. Once you have the item, head back to the Switch Passage and move down to the far end.
Here you can cut through a group of spider webs and find Kenshi's Katana (5, 30). With this second item, head back to The Dead Woods and use the katana to enter Shao Khan's Tomb.Unlock the White Lotus TempleUnlocking White Lotus Temple isn't hard. First you'll need to get your hands on Liu Kang's Fireball (0, 7) in Shao Khan's Tomb.
Once you have this item head to the Cemetery Grounds and then use Liu Kang's Fireball to open up the White Lotus Temple and earn your reward of 6,000 Koins.Unlock The NetherRealmMortal Kombat wouldn't be Mortal Kombat without some way to enter the NetherRealm. To enter this area of the Krypt you're going to have to gain entry to the Shrine Entrance (-11, 12). In order to get inside you'll need Jax's Rocket Launcher (0, 12) which is found in Khan's Stronghold. Once you are in the Shrine Entrance, approach the Shrine of the Dead and wager 10,000 of your hard-earned Koins. This will grant you the NetherRealm Kamidogu. Now head to the Frost Path, and locate the Nether Gate.
Once the gate is located, use the NetherRealm Kamidogu to gain entry to the NetherRealm.Solving Shao Khan's Fortress Puzzle and Entering Khan's StrongholdIf you want to get into the central chamber of Shao Khan's Tomb you're going to need to locate and pull three levers hidden throughout the map. The first lever is located in Acid Falls at coordinates -5, 28. Use Reptile's Claw to climb up and then pull the lever. The second lever is found in Spike pitts at coordinates 12, 14.
Use Ermac's Pendant to hover across and then pull the lever. To find the final lever, and open up the door, you'll need to head to Lin Kuei Katacomb, and use Sub-Zero's Ice Ball at the coordinates -8, 14. Pull the lever here and the door to Khan's Stronghold will open, giving you access to the central chamber in Shao Khan's Tomb.The Shrine of the DeadThe Shrine of the Dead is another major area in the Krpyt, and here you'll find a part of the game that is eager to take all of your Koins in a gamble for new items. There are quite a few items that you must win from the Shrine, and in order to keep this guide more organized we've actually created a whole new article just for this area of the Krypt.
