Possibility of a completely clogged pcv valve. Surprising, but true. I own a 2005 nissan sentra 1.8 s automatic. Nissan has nothing on replacing these things, but when they clog up and can cause a pressure build-up within the engine causing it to work hard and idle higher. Please replace as soon as you can.

2005 Nissan Sentra Se-r Front Grinding Noise Problems And Reviews

As some of you know me and my truck has been in an accident (see: General: Look out for Sweet Old Ladies ) a month or so back and I do not know if this noise is a result of the crash or is it is common with Frontiers. I have tested this by putting the right rear tier in snow and spinning it.

It does it every time. Let me know what you think.EDIT lakotalakotaModerator GroupNissan Frontier Forums ModeratorJoined: Feb 14 2005Online Status: OfflinePosts: 1776Member's Gallery:Location:Posted: Mar 24 2007 at 1:33pm IP Logged.DavesNismo17403;If your rig is a 4x4 with automatic front hubs I’d guess it was engaged and has damaged parts in it. The damaged parts could prevent the hub from disengaging. All this might only happen when the FWD system is in gear. Also it could be damaged axle splines. When you are under power and spinning the wheels engine torque is straining the motor mounts (possibly broken from the frame) and causing things to rub.BTW, You might fill out a SIG (signature at the bottom of posts) similar to mine. It helps when diagnosing problems with vehicles, parts shipping and weather conditions.Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.

I have an '05 frontier LE 4x4 and I've noticed the same thing (no wrecks in mine though).

I hear something kind of grinding when I'm in 4 wheel drive and step on it in the snow. (I feel like it's the same noise as when the ABS kicks in when stopping in snow) Even with the DSC off, it's like a system is activating when it senses tire spin and causes that God awful ABS noise around the left front wheel well. My dad has an '05 Titan and it does the EXACT same thing. It is kind of clunky sounding on such a slick vehicle, sounds like you're breaking something, but I think it's just some sort of normal sound unfortunately.

Anyone know more about this that could explain what's happening, is it the ABS system kicking in, or transfer case or something? Thanks!lakotaModerator GroupNissan Frontier Forums ModeratorJoined: Feb 14 2005Online Status: OfflinePosts: 1776Member's Gallery:Location:Posted: Dec 07 2007 at 3:52pm IP Logged. It might be an electronic ABS based traction system appling brake pads the the wheel/wheels that is spinning faster than the slower ones.Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.

Don S.It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State. A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!PLEASE A SIG similar to mine can be VERY HELPFUL to all the members!'
