Equivalent to.15 size.SunnySky brushless motors are made of quality components that are normally only seen in high end products, and are designed to give years of high performance. Every motor has been carefully balanced and tested in the factory.Every motor comes with a cross type mount and a propeller adaptor as shown in the following photos.Features:Durable Japanese NMB ball bearingsEfficient Japanese Kawasaki stator steelsRare earth neodymium magnets stable up to 180 OCPolyesterimide enameled oxygen free copper wires that work up to 180 OCCNC machined and anodized aluminum caseLaser-engraved motor model and KV numberSoft silicone wire leadsPatented balance techniquesSpecifications:Stator Diameter. 28 mmStator Height.20 mmOutside Diameter.35 mmBody Length.40 mmShaft Diameter.5.0 mmMotor Kv.800 RPM / VoltMotor Weight.140 gAccesory Weight.18 gWarrantySunnySky motors sold by Buddy RC are manufactured by using quality materials and built to last.

The motors are covered by a two year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Motor bearings, shafts, and propeller adapters are normal wear parts, and as such, need to be maintained and changed periodically. Therefore these parts are not covered by the two year warranty, nor any subsequent damage caused to the motor or aircraft by these wear parts. For maximum life, we suggest to install motors and accessories properly, and put a small drop of oil on each bearing every 10 flights. If phenomena of motor vibration, shaking, roughness, or notches in bearings are observed after a period of use, it is suggested to replace motor bearings immediately. It is the responsibility of the pilot to ensure that the bearings are maintained properly and periodically. This one is a classic! Probably the most ubiquitous 2204 2300kv motor in the miniquad world, the SunnySky X2204 is one of the longest running relevant motors on the market. This is one of a batch of the discounted Sunnies at HiFPV.com, which I purchased myself for testing. Once I've done the full bank of motors, I'll do a document sumarizing the direct comparisons. Now on to the testing!SummaryNo test of 2300kv 2204 and 2205 motors would be complete without the SunnySky X2204 motors. This stape of the miniquad world is still suprisingly relevant. Build quality on these is not bad at all.

The bell is one of the most balanced I've tested, and interestingly enough they appear to do it without the need for balancing mud. They are also insanely light, only weight in at 21g. I was slightly concerned about the quality of these coming from HiFPV rather than the usual retailers, but so far they seem to be on par with the others. It's worth noting that there are some known issues with these in terms of durabiility given how light they are. If you're flying these, it's worth regularly checking the set scew, and even removing it and puting in some pre-emptive locktite.

Other than that, these are great motors, especially for the price HiFPV has them right now. Given the modern rush of new motors, they're probably not worth it at the normal retail price, but given the new SunnySky Edge motors coming out, I doubt we'll see these around for much longer. Like saying goodbye to an old friend though!

Hopefully they'll stick around at the cheaper pricepoint. If they do, they're a great starter motor. Now on to the bench results!Test ResultsThese motors have done remarkably well for a long time in the miniquad world. Amazingly enough they still to very well compared to the modern batch of 2204 motors, though they lose ground rapidly against the current rush of 2205 motors. Still for 4' props and lightweight 5' props this motor does surprisingly well. The only true 2204 motor to outperform them was the RotorGeeks 2204. This motor did surprsingly well even on the heavily loaded props, though you could tell a massive difference in the acceleration and decelleration speeds just from the sound of the motor on the heavier props.

On Gemfan 5x4.6 (HQProp 5x4.5 Bullnose equivalent) and the KingKong 6x4 the windings did heat up a good deal, and the smell of resin was pretty strong, but they didn't seem to suffer as much RPM/thrust loss as some of the other 2204 motors, even under the heavy load. I believe unloaded in the air, these would do ok, even on the heavy props.

V2216

It's definitely going to cause a signifcant hit in repsonsiveness though, due to the low torque on this motor. One thing I found particular interesting was the almost identical top end thrust performance of the 5x4.6BN, 5x4.5 Hybrid BN, and the 5x4x3 props on this motor. Also the massive inefficiency of the square bullnose on this prop is also interesting. Interestingly enough the the thrust performance among those three was only the same at the very top end, and the spread widens the at the lower throttle levels.

Interesting stuff there. Be sure to review the complete results by clicking the link at the top of the article. Overall these were very solid performers for true 2204 stator size motors.
